this story that i have decided to write may not be big or great because i am just starting to follow my passion for writing and i haven't seen the movie or the tv show or read the so sorry if i get anything wrong, as the title says this will take place in australia so i'm inclined to make my own creatures for such a story so please keep that in mind when you read it. also this takes place in sydney so keep that in mind.
Australian Mist
i was hoping that it was just a sick dream i had, it wasn't when i woke the next day i found that the fog or mist was still there, the horryfing shrieks of the beasts outside were still there and so was everyones faces of horror, this was a nightmare except it was real. i got up and went over the laptop and checked the streets around us, that megolania was still circling the hotel which we were held up in and the screams of the suburbs still came through our window, it was a wonder that they all haven't died yet but a horror to those that were still alive
"Janae...." Alex, my secret girlfriend called out to me, she was worried because no one else was awake and the laptop was dangerously close to the window which could have a giant fly crashing through it at any second, luckily it didn't and everyone else awoke and stood in attendance.
Francis took the role
"Mrs Geok?"
"here"
"father?"

After the roles were taken everyone sat around the dining room table and discussed what we were going to do for the day, the people who weren't old or weak was on duty to board up all the windows and doors and keep watch on the cameras while the old and the weak were to go and grab food from the restuaraunt and the basement which had a cellar as part of it. the only issue with going down there however is the megalania tends to hang around the door so everyone had to be extra quite and smell like nothing.
We made it to the basement and grabbed a couple of bottles of wine and brandy before notcing that the little floor window had been broken into by some smalll creature or creatures, that was when we relised that Mrs geok was bleeding on the floor and a humanoid like creature with black scales, large claws and a deer skull as a head was watching her with content.
"Nobody move" AAlex whispered to the others whom were going to book it to the door as she slowly took out a metal bar and approached the creature clasping the bar in her hands, it noticed her and snarled at her, even taking a swing that was expertly block by the bar, but it lost interest in her shortly and looked at the old Mrs Geok before slumping back out the window.
"we can't take her with us" (Alex)
"why not?" (Janae)
"the megalania will smell her"
"but there has to be a way?"
"there isn't"
and the was the end of the conversation, we did get the closest medic, which ended up being steve, but he couldn't save her from being trapped into that room and becoming the prey for whatever beast had found because the next morning, she was gone and those baricades we put up on the window was destroyed leaving only a splash of bloood behind.
The next spot we had to forage for food was the resturaunt which was only a step from the hotel, we opened our door and looked outside, the megalania was nowhere to be seen so we walked out the door hotel and quickly jumped into the resturaunt and closed it. immediately a gun was aimed at us by a women with two kids by her legs.
"WHAT ARE YOU HERE FOR?!" was the womens question
"food, we come from the hotel next door" I answered looking down the barrel at my face before looking back at the door and then the children.
"the hotel?" the women asked more calmly than before lowering her gun and then peaking her head outside the door to see no megalania.
"yeah" i said and she lowered the gun and went back to get some food
"i'm coming with you"
"why?"
"the infestation"
"what infestation?"
"come here" she said leading us to a small corner of the room where a bunch of small rat like creatures with horns on there head teared through the wall and began to eat the food that was inside.
"oh and there's a predator that enters this place at night so i'm goin with" she said grabbing as much food as she can before leaving and coming back to the hotel where we enjoyed some free food and a new person that could fill in the gap of Mrs Geok
